April 22, 1970, was the first celebrated Earth Day. 

Even though one day has been named to honor our earth, our daily actions should include the best of intentions for planet earth every day of the year. Taking care of our planet depends on the helpful actions of everyone. From the individual act of throwing trash in a receptacle to the leadership needed for mobilizing a group to promote environmental education, every action makes a difference.
